I went out to get somebody connected to the internet today. They were
running an old Dell with Windohze 98 Sadists Edition on it. It was
pretty easy although I had to un-install IE 5.5 to re-install the

Anyway! I looked on the desk behind me and there
In the pile of Mac Classics I'm giving away. I still have a few left.
I have a classic with a very dark display.
The control panel is set at maximum.
What is the cause of this?
Also 4 of the classics had no HDD. They had a SCSI terminator in the internal SCSI

Update to previous post:
Bill Walsh of Digikey tells me that indeed there is a suitable Larry
Pina upgrade replacement for the diode at CR1 and CR5 on the analog
board (Pina Part # MR 824 5-A). Part # FR604CT is a
higher-amperage-than-the-original repacement that they carry. He further

I'll second that. When I
any one interested could of course email the winner to see what he plans
on doing with all those macs, likely they plan to test and sell them
somewhere or they may just enjoy a challenges.

A voltmeter would be handy to measure the voltages before and after the pop

Hi Liam
Any luck? If you find the power supply at fault and have trouble finding
a replacement board drop me a line.

The power supply is on the analog board, the one that stands on its
side in your Mac. Just unscrew and swap it with another.
Jeff
I will have a go at replacing the analogue board and see - I've taken a
closer look and it looks like
