My wife is an Ecuadorian botanist, and she does a lot of writing in both English and Spanish. I end up doing a lot of page layout (we've even done a couple of books now). So I have some info for you: First, a lot of software (including pre-X Mac Operating Systems) comes in different versions for Spanish. In other words, you can't just change some control panel and have a Spanish OS on a Mac that has had North American English. I believe all the same OS versions that are free in English are also free to download in Spanish. Try this location: ftp://ftp.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/Spanish/Macintosh/System/ I didn't see 7.1, but there was 7.01 and 7.5.2. Having said all that, I just recently discovered that Quark Xpress Passport 4.1 actually does toggle the program language (i.e. changes menus etc.)among some dozen languages. I haven't seen any other program that does that. Buena suerte! Joe **** Joseph C. Welling Joe The Juggler 2109-A Alfred Ave. St. Louis, MO 63110-3301 U.S.A.
