I can't figure out how to make a CD in Mac OS X that would be bootable to a classic environment. I'm not sure if there is a way...I worked my derrière (:-P) off and wasted 10 CD-Rs trying to make an OS 8.6 (bootable) CD for my 7200 last year, using my iMac G4 (10.3.5 at the time). Just

OK, I have an external SCSI CD-ROM, and it's a 24x, which used to hook up to a PowerComputing tower. The question: Can I hook this up to my SE and have the SE read CD-ROMs? CD-Sunrise is indeed a great driver, but from the rest of your post, it appears likely that you also want to listen

I was using an Apple CD-ROM drive, maybe a 800E (something like that) and a burned CD with a system folder. Does the CD need to be burned in a certain way to get it to be bootable? On 8/1/05, Ian Nixon [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I think it was because it was all genuine Apple stuff - genuine 7.5

If I remember correctly, you have to make sure the system folder is blessed in the CD authoring process. If you put a system folder on there and its not blessed, you cannot boot. I was using an Apple CD-ROM drive, maybe a 800E (something like that) and a burned CD with a system folder. Does

You need a CD-ROM driver in order to use a CD drive. The best option for System 6/7 Macs is CD-Sunrise, a free and quite small driver. Its only fault is its lack of support for ISO 9660-formatted CDs, but it doesn't matter so much, because most Macintosh CD-ROMs are HFS-formatted or mixed
