For the workout times I bought myself a cheap (as in 45 bux) 2 gig sony
flash mp3 player with built in tuner. It's also water (sweat) resistant.
So the only problem is the audible one...course there is always the library

I've been working my way through Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. I
prefer to laugh while working out.

When I am working out and sweating, and feeling inclined to feel sorry for
myself, listening to an account of, say, the Bataan death march, can put my
head in a useful place!

Hey, Don't knock it! I've spent years and hundreds of hours on our
county ReCenter treadmill listening to mysteries, suspense, police
procedurals, etc. Been through all of Michael Connelly, John Grisham,
David Baldacci, Donald Westlake, Carl Hiaasen and many more.
In fact, the best device

imagine what kind of audio book would be suitable!
I find a really good audio book a lot more engrossing than music and
makes the time doing unpleasant tasks (like exercising) seem to go

FWIW I heard that the Zune is number two in the market for MP3
players. It is the competition that makes them look bad- iPods are so
dominant that they dwarf all the competition combined.
I wouldn't mind having a Zune for the gym since Apple would never put
an FM tuner in the iPod. I have

Actually, Apple does make an iPod Radio Remote for $49. Check the Apple

It goes between the iPod and the earphones. Gives you a radio display
and allows you to set presets. I enjoy mine. (I readily admit you can
probably find a non-iPod player with FM radio for around the same
price. I
The Apple external radios are what I was talking about as the cable

I think that just tells you about zuny sales, and their very special operating
system. maybe 12 yo's are smarter than we give them credit for.

You can do the same with a new computer using a Griffin iMic and RCA to
