I need a partition with lots of space for iso-images/tracks. So i chose to put everything into /home/toast. I did a chmod -R 777 on toast so everyone can do anything with it. After every boot i end up not having the permissions to write into that directory, the permissions have been changed.

I think you missed the point. If a user doesn't need to see something, don't show it to them. Everything should just work. The user should only see error messages if something fails. Too much explanations in Software of everything the system is doing implies the developer is drowned in the code

Having been looking at OO deploying it I have a suggestion which would be to create a script which can run much like the First time thing which allows the system to to install OO by default using the /net option then as each user logs into his/her desktop for the first time it could pop up with

Since Beta 1 I have not been able to get my Lexmark Z52 to print. At installation it says installing as local printer then when installation is over it will not print. Have tried all 3 betas and did clean installs on all 3 but still it does not work. I need my printer can anyone help. It
