Just a note about a xawtv problem in cooker.
error: failed dependencies:
libdv.so.2 is needed by xawtv-common-3.78-1mdk
libdv.so.2 is provided by libdv2-0.98-1mdk.i586.rpm, which is a contrib
package.
Is it time to move libdv2 to cooker or to rebuild xawtv without this
library?
libmpeg2.so.0 is needed by ImageMagick but the rpm containing it
(libmpeg2dec0) is not in Cooker.
If it is in contrib and necessary, it should be brought in.

Thanks!!
Stefan
the "i386" part be replaced by %{_arch} ? That should do the
job...
Thanks,

Hi,
For the last few weeks I'm having some problems building a number
of packages. gtk+ is one of them.
Here's what goes wrong (on both intel and alpha systems):
ranlib .libs/libgdk.a
creating libgdk.la
(cd .libs rm -f libgdk.la ln -s ../libgdk.la libgdk.la)
make[2]: Leaving directory

I just received this mail from the adns people:

Hi,
I'm getting the following error with this package while building
on alpha:

Hi,
Is anyone interested in the current "state" of my weekly mandrake builds
on
my alpha celeron systems?
I think I can put up a summary of what's not building (and why /
buildoutput
fragments showing the fault) in no time...

Here's the situation now (it might be inaccurate, I'm
in the middle of some builds). The "tail" files are the
tails of the buildoutputs plus some of my comments.
packages that don't build on my alpha and intel:
clisp-2000.03.06-1mdk.src.rpm
compat-glibc-5.3-2.0.7.6mdk.src.rpm
Wheel mouse, wheel mouse ! I reckon all this wheel mouse stuff is just a myth !
:-) I have never managed to get my wheel mouse to work on Linux, and probably
never will ! :-(
Well, it works fine here... I've got a logitech wheel mouse (M-S48)
and it works like a charm. Even remote X-sessions
The packages that have been fixed / arched out
have been removed. I've installed make 3.77 on my
alpha and compiled the troubled packages, only gtk+
benefitted from this. I'm going to do the same on
the i686 later this week / weekend.
For the complete faulty buildoutputs see:
rms "task" (one mouse-click) to download install the
software.
- User is provided with the "comfort" of a Mandrake packaged RPM.
- Updates of new "closed software" packages (acroread, staroffice,
WP??) can be provided with this mechanism.
I know it goes far...

How about:
kerberos
midgard
netsaint;-)
What I would like to see are "dependancy relationships"
between packages displayed in a graphic way. See it as a
sort of tree-like network diagram (ever seen cheops, for
displaying networks), from the bottom the kernel (and
other base-sys packages) and you build your way up. This
way it should

What I've seen happening a few times is that a change in
a package causes it to refuse to build on an other platform.
The Mozilla team has come up with tinderbox to make sure that
the stuff is tested builds on all platforms, and to show
what went wrong... See:
