post, the alignment has changed, and the h2 element appears to be
clearing the div containing the date, and it is not expanding to fill
the containing div. Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong?

Not sure about IE 7 (N.A. here, right now), but based in IE 6:
.post {
/*float:left;
clear:both;*/
padding-top:1px
}

(according to
browsershots.org and my partner), there is a 1px gap beneath the inactive
tabs. Can someone tell me why? Or how to code this so that it doesn't
break so easily between browsers when the font size or family changes or
just renders differently? I appreciate any help!!

I'm not entirely sure what you want the site to look like. On the current

Your site doesn't validate, so that is the first thing I would work on.
From what I saw, there were some missing closing tags and also some extra
closing tags in there. There was a css error also.

Sandy,
You can add a span tag inside the legend tag and then in your css you could
add a rule like:
fieldset legend span {display:block; width:400px;}
Hope this helps.

Try adding a universal selector at the beginning of your css to zero out all
margins and paddings across browsers. Different browsers have different
default margins and padding, so this is a good way to clear your slate at
the beginning. Try something like
* {margin:0; padding:0;}.

Tim,
I believe that if you have space after an image in IE, you end up with a gap
like that. Try removing any whitespace after that image and see if that
fixes it.
