CTAN Update: getmap

2014-08-14 Thread CTAN Announcements
Josef Kleber submitted an update to the

   getmap

package.

Version number: v1.5
License type: lppl

Summary description: Download OpenStreetMap, Google Maps or
 Google Street View maps

Announcement text:
--

The goal of this package is the simplest possible provision of
map images (OpenStreetMap, Google Maps and Google Street View
are supported). In the simplest case, the specification of an
address is sufficient. The package loads the map using the
\write18 feature, which you must activate to use this package.
The image will be downloaded by an external Lua script. You can
use this script also from the command line.

 License: LPPL

 Changes in v1.5:

 - added gpx2gps bash file

transforms a gpx file (exported route) into a plain list
of geographical coordinates (latitude, longitude) to create
an encoded polyline (route) for the map

 - updated documentation

New on CTAN: assoccnt

2014-08-14 Thread CTAN Announcements
Christian Hupfer submitted the

  assoccnt

package.

Version number: 0.2
License type: lppl

Summary description: Advancing many counters simultaneously

Announcement text:
--

Announcement of original upload (v. 0.1):

This package provides some commands to handle associated
counters that will be stepped if a driver counter (say page
or chapter) is increased by \stepcounter. The driven counters
can be given as a CSV list to the `\DeclareAssociatedCounters´
command and will be increased, even if the driver counter is
  reset in the meantime.

\RemoveAssociatedCounters will remove the specified counters
  from the update list.

See the comments in the style file and the
  assoccnt_example.tex/assoccnt_example.pdf for usage and
  further explanation.

This package can be used in conjunction with `totcount` to
provide real total values of a counter, as long as no direct
manipulation to an associated counter is done via
  `\setcounter` or `\addtocounter`.

Announcement of v. 0.2:

A better error handling has been introduced

Multiple specification of an associated counter is prevented

  The macro \IfIsAssociatedCounter is introduced

  Documentation added in assoccnt.pdf
