CTAN package update: unicode-math

2011-09-18 Thread CTAN Announcements
the daemon burbles:

The following information was provided by the package's contributor.

 Name of contribution: unicode-math
 Author's name: Will Robertson
 Package version: v0.6
 Location on CTAN: macros/latex/contrib/unicode-math/
Summary description: Unicode mathematics support for XeLaTeX and LuaLaTeX
 License type: lppl

Announcement text given by the package's contributor:
 --
The latest version of unicode-math adds several features, including
\mathversion support and a large number of internal improvements.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused while unicode-math was broken
after I updated fontspec last week. My plans to do the updates
 simultaneously went awry.

Complete change notes for this release are:

   * Math versions (finally) implemented; can now change maths fonts
 mid-document without reinitialising everything
(thanks to Ulrike Fischer and Ulrik Vieth)
   * Symbols file `unimath-symbols.pdf` now uses maths versions to compare
all of the OpenType maths fonts I currently have access to
   * Over- and under- braces, brackets, and parentheses now work in XeTeX
 (thanks to Claudio Beccari)
   * Many internal changes, including a re-write of the `range` feature;
it should now be faster and more robust
   * Tentative programmer's interface for querying the current math style:
 `\l_um_mathstyle_tl`.
   * Remove (outdated) interaction with beamer; you must specify
 `professionalfonts` manually for now
   * Quieten the console output when loading maths fonts with incomplete maths
 style coverage
   * Synonym added: `\lnot` - `\neg`
   * Two added Unicode symbols (names tentative): `\blanksymbol` and `\openbox`
 (thanks to Apostolos Syropoulos)
   * Fixed literal sub-/super-script input.

thanks for the upload; i've installed the new version, and updated the
catalogue repository.

CTAN package update: fontspec

2011-09-18 Thread CTAN Announcements
the daemon witters more:

The following information was provided by the package's contributor.

 Name of contribution: fontspec
 Author's name: Will Robertson
 Author's email: will.robert...@latex-project.org
 Package version: v2.2a
 Location on CTAN: macros/latex/contrib/fontspec/
Summary description: Advanced font selection in XeLaTeX and LuaLaTeX
 License type: lppl

Announcement text given by the package's contributor:
 --
This minor bug fix release addresses compatibility with other packages
such as mathspec that use old fontspec internals.

This update does NOT address the current problem with polyglossia
introduced with v2.2; to work around this yourself, please load
xkeyval at the same time as you load polyglossia:

 \usepackage{xkeyval,polyglossia}

The advantage for fontspec with not loading xkeyval is to be able to
load the package before \documentclass, which can be useful when
compiling custom formats and preloading fonts.

thanks for the upload; i've installed the new version, and updated the

CTAN package update: currfile

2011-09-18 Thread CTAN Announcements
the daemon writes:

The following information was provided by the package's contributor.

 Name of contribution: currfile
 Author's name: Martin Scharrer
 Package version: v0.5
 Location on CTAN: macros/latex/contrib/currfile/
Summary description: Support for files with multiple dots in their
   names and for \input@path.
 License type: lppl

Announcement text given by the package's contributor:
 --
This update adds support for file name with multiple dots. Before everything
after the first dot was taken as the file extension.
Now only the part after the last dot is taken as the extension. If no
dot is included 'tex' is used as extension (in catcode 12 other to
 match with \jobname).

Support for the \input@path feature, used by packages like 'import',
 got added as well.

Thanks goes to Heiko Oberdiek for pointing out the missing support on
 comp.text.tex.

CTAN Update: bidi

2011-09-18 Thread CTAN Announcements
On Sun, 18 Sep 2011 Vafa Khalighi submitted an update to the

  bidi

package.

Summary description: Support for bidirectional typesetting in plain TeX and
LaTeX.
License type: lppl

Announcement text:
--
1) Documentation for usage of bidi package in Plain XeTeX is added.

2) New command \eqnewif is added that makes old and new bidi conditionals
identical, e.g. \if@rl and \if@RTL. Generally this new command \eqnewif makes
two conditionals identical such that whenever first conditional is true, the
second one is also true and whever the first conditional is false, the second
contional is also false. For more details see the documentation.

3) Support for lettrine package is added.

4) Support for the new package paracol by Hiroshi Nakashima is added.
