 Various updates:

 Mathtools:
 --

 * \noeqref fixed regarding babel active chars, it has also been
enhanced such that it will warn about undefined references

 * Some of the inner workings of \DeclarePairedDelimiter(X) can now be
changed by the user, see the manual

 * \prescript changed slightly such that it should match the math style
   being used.

 Empheq:
 ---

 * A workaround has been provided for an interaction between empheq and
ntheorem, it is a good idea to place \usetagform{default} _after_
loading ntheorem (in a future ntheorem release, this might be done
   automatically)

 * Several bugs have been fixed, though there are still several
   internal problems.

2012-05-10 Thread CTAN Announcements
On Mon, 7 May 2012 Uwe Lück submitted the

  latexfileinfo-pkgs

package.

Summary description: Comparison of packages showing LaTeX file infos
License type: lppl

Announcement text:
--
The package provides a file

  `latexfileinfo_pkgs.htm'

to be viewed by a web browser. It is an HTML list and comparison
of CTAN packages displaying LaTeX source file informations
according to the commands \ProvidesClass, \ProvidesFile,
and \ProvidesPackage that LaTeX files should start with.
The document especially describes five packages of my own [U.L.],
including interrelations and dependencies, and thus extends
their documentations. Among packages from different authers
mentioned or described as well are

 * `latexfileversion' and `ltxfileinfo' (rather)
for single files, as well as

 * `classlist' and `dateiliste' for listing inputted files.

Support of revision control systems is mentioned briefly.

New on CTAN: dowith

2012-05-10 Thread CTAN Announcements
On Thu, 10 May 2012 Uwe Lück submitted the

  dowith

package.

Summary description: Apply a command to a list items – no separators, no
iterator
License type: lppl

Announcement text:
--
`dowith.sty' provides macros for applying a command to all
elements of a list without separators, such as
`\DoWithAllIn{cmd}{list-macro}', and also for extending
and reducing macros storing such lists. Applications in mind
belonged to \LaTeX, but the package should work with other
formats as well. Loop and list macros in other packages are
discussed. There is an emphasis on expandability (no iterator),
without relying on e-TeX.

Privately, I have used macros for a more powerful package where
the command may have more than one argument and there is a
separator in output, such as a comma or a vertical stroke
between links. This extended package may soon appear here as well.

KEYWORDS: macro programming, loops, list macros

RELATED PACKAGES: etextools, etoolbox, forarray, forloop,
multido, moredefs, lmake, texapi, xfor, xspace

New on CTAN: eitl

2012-05-10 Thread CTAN Announcements
On Thu, 10 May 2012 Rolf Niepraschk and Herbert Voß submitted the

  eitl

package.

Summary description: Easy Install of TeXLive
License type: lppl

Announcement text:
--
This script allows the easy install of a current TeXLive
version over the net. It is tested with the current
Linux versions of OpenSUSE and Ubuntu. The script does

- looking for a fast server
- downloading the install script
- deleting an existing TeXLive version from Ubuntu (deb) or openSUSE (rpm)
- extracting and running the install script
- installing a complete up-to-date TeXLive from tug.org
- installing the non free fonts from tug.org which are not part of TeXLive,
like arial, Luxi mono, aso
- installing the GUIs TeXmaker and TeXworks
- creating files zzz-texlive.sh/csh for /etc/profile.d/

without specifing a directory, TeXLive will be installed
in the home directory ~/texlive. For another one run
the script with e.g.

./eitl.sh /usr/local/texlive

for some actions the script needs to be root. In such cases it asks for the
root password.

Temporary stop of upload service at CTAN

2012-05-10 Thread CTAN Announcements
Neither CTAN admin is able to work on uploads this week-end.

We have decided to leave the upload pages (and ftp upload directories)
open, but there is little chance that the backlog will be processed
before Monday (14th May).

Please bear with us: there are only two admins doing all the
installation, documentation and announcement work. This was bound to
happen some time, and this weekend external pressures have coincided as
feared.

And please be sensible about what you upload for us to install -- a
large number of copies of the same package (oh, i forgot _that_, too
or the like), for example, won't do you any good, and may anger other
people who can't upload as a result.
