NEVER ENOUGH LAND Israeli negotiators will NEVER be able to give away enough Israeli land to placate the Arabs. There will NEVER be enough negotiating concessions possible or sacrifices great enough short of giving away the Jewish state's sovereignty. That is the only peace proposal that the Arabs will ever be satisfied with. They've never changed their charter to destroy Israel and while some on the left have said it is paranoia to think they still want to sweep the Jews into the sea, that is EXACTLY what they want. Anti-Zionists on the left say that Jews do not have a claim to the land anyway and there is not enough logic in the world to change their narrow minded, anti-Semitic, left-wing fascist world views. And I mean that sincerely. The left has become more fascist until it very much resembles the national socialism of Nazi Germany - that was also anti-Jewish. My support for the left ends with a left that has no perception of the truth. The left builds it's world view on tidbits or morsels of truth which when taken together are distortions of real life's realities. REDUCING ISRAEL TO INDEFENSIBLE BORDERS Mohamed Heikal (Journal of Palestine Studies, Autumn, 1971 - discussing war and peace in the Middle-East) when in 1971, as editor of Egypt's Al Ahram (Egypt's _semi-official_ newspaper), called on Arabs to tone down their rhetoric against the Jews and end the threats of "throwing Israel into the sea". This was a shift to a new stage to a "new political strategy aimed at reducing Israel to indefensible borders and pushing her into diplomatic and economic isolation [Joan Peters in "From Time Immemorial" with quotes from Heikal]. This shift to "humanitarian terminology" was effective in influencing world opinion - to "replace former Arab proclamations of carnage and obliteration. This was also before the 73 war and Nassar considered Israel a "permanent threat to the Arab nation." [Interview with Nasser for Le Monde (Paris, February, 1970) - cited in Vatikiotis, "Nasser", page 259] and stressing Israel's presence as an "occupation of OUR [Pan-Arab] lands." As a reminder because it has been written about here before, the majority of Arab refugees in 1948 who left and again in 1967 did not even come in contact with an Israeli soldier. They left because they were urged to do so or they did so to get out of perceived harms way. And those who did leave (far less than the 500,000 claimed by other Arabs - and interestingly the 750,000 claimed by leftists like Edward Herman - both figures inflated) have been used as pawns by neighboring Arab governments for over half a century. And as a reminder also (see articles at: http://pnews.org/art/art.shtml), many Israelis urged their Arab residents to stay (see citations including Arab sponsored data from the Institute for Palestine Studies in Beirut for this data) And as a reminder it was Emile Ghoury, secretary of the Arab Higher Command who said: "It is inconceivable that the refugees should be sent back to their homes while they are occupied by the Jews... It would serve as a first step toward Arab recognition of the state of Israel and partition." And as a reminder, since it has been written about here before (see the archives), Arab activist Musa Alami wrote: "The people are in great need of a 'myth' to fill their consciousness and imagination" and he was the first to raise the myth of a "Palestinian nationhood," which never was an issue or even though of before the RE-establishment of Israel. As Peters reminds us the "entire West Bank" was occupied by Jordan and never became an issue until after Israel captured it in the Six day war which is when the Palestinian nationalist movement really began. And that is fine. They can live there just as Jews can live there but there is NO law of return for Arabs who did not even have a nationalist movement or Palestininian citizenship before they left because there was NO Palestinian state and there still is no Palestinian state and if the violence continues there may never be a Palestinian state. There has already been a complete exchange of populations - which has happened before elsewhere and happened in Israel which absorbed about a million Jews who were expelled from Arab and other Middle-Eastern countries after 1948.
