next two forwarded from L Moss Sharman - Lawsuits allege dioceses reinjured sex-abuse victims - Complaints about clergy in the Phila. and Allentown areas say concealment of crimes added trauma. By David O'Reilly Inquirer Staff Writer 5/12/04 "Using a legal strategy untested in Pennsylvania, a Berks County law firm yesterday said it had filed six more lawsuits against the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and two against the Diocese of Allentown for allegedly allowing and concealing clergy sexual abuse. St. Joseph nuns sued in abuse claim - School for Deaf case also names 4 others By Ralph Ranalli, Globe Staff  5/12/04 "Nine former students at the now-defunct Boston School for the Deaf filed a lawsuit yesterday claiming they were the victims of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse decades ago by the staff of the school, including at least 14 nuns. Along with the nuns from the Sisters of St. Joseph, the plaintiffs are suing two priests, an athletic instructor, and a former top official in the Archdiocese of Boston, according to their lawyer, Mitchell Garabedian. Garabedian's clients, three women and six men, were between the ages of 7 and 16 when they were allegedly abused between 1944 and 1977. The plaintiffs, who are now between 41 and 67 years old, are all hearing- or speech-impaired. They say they were subjected to harsh physical abuse and corporal punishment, as well as alleged fondling and more serious sexual contact." http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2004/05/12/st_joseph_nuns_sued_in_abuse_claim/

Murder case unveils town secret From The Times 5/19/04 "an extraordinary murder trial involving a nanny and an adulterous minister. The trial, in Uppsala, about 100km north of Stockholm, could break legal ground in Europe because the prosecutor will try to prove, for the first time, that a man brainwashed a young woman and effectively made her pull the trigger on a murder victim.  In the dock is a Pentecostal minister, Helge Fossmo, 32, who is charged with murdering his first wife, inciting the murder of his second wife and masterminding the attempted murder of his neighbour.  Alongside Mr Fossmo is Sara Svensson, 27, his former nanny, who is charged with the murder of his second wife and the attempted killing of his neighbour."  http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5744,9602260%255E2703,00.html
