>It's few minutes after 10PM already, and no emergency sirens... That's
>pretty odd, because we were almost getting used to NATO raids around 8 or 9
>PM. (Ooops, they just announced the state of Emergency, at 10.15).
>Last night, the Oil Refinery in Pancevo was not attacked, but many people
>have left the town already because of the fear of ecological
>disaster...Gordana hoped that we will spot the shop which sells cigaretes
>somewhere, because the que will not be so huge in the emptied town...But it
>seems that all the supplies were sold out already. Dozens of buses
>prepared in case of need for evacuation were parked in few parts of the
>town. Gordana went to her job in a near-by village, to find out that it was
>full of people who escaped there from the town last evening...
>Tonight, rock bands are playing a concert on a large bridge over Danube,
>which connects Pancevo and Belgrade... Let's hope that it will convince
>NATO not to drop bombs while the people are there?
>Last night the bombs fell on the Justice Court building in the very heart
>of Belgrade. The building was not used by the military at all, and it was a
>coicidence that nobody was hurt, as the passers-by (despite the emergency)
>were walking there on the pavement and watched the projectile falling from
>the sky in a beautiful evening...
>I saw the report about bombings of a small town of Cuprija, the place that
>I visited several times... I remember it as a quiet, sleepy town, and it
>was bizarre to see the buildings and little shops destroyed, with the
>articles from the boutiques spilled all over the place... As the bombing
>campaign progress, more and more civilian targets have been shot, and more
>and more people are being killed and yet it's hard to find out about the
>egzact number of the victims... I guess that authorities think that it will
>be too depressing to count deads in situation like this?...
>On the lighter side of reality, we heard that Serbian cartoonist Ivana
>Filipovic has succesfully moved to Vancouver, Canada...Good luck, Ivana!
>Also, friends from Galago (one of the best European alternative comics
>magazines) said that they are ready to come to Belgrade for the exhibition
>of contemporary Swedish comics scene , as soon as the war stops. The
>exhibition was in preparation shortly before the whole madness began...I
>hope to see you soon, guys.
>Regards
>Sasa
