Corrupt Burmese Major General Thin Sin
Starts War With Thailand Over Bad Drug Deal

Lahu Drug Runners intercepted by Shan Army. Maj. Gen Thin Sin Backs up his
friends
with the Burmese Army, starting a border war with Thailand.

Maj.Gen Thin Sin

A history of disregard, corruption and drugs.
A couple of years ago a Burmese Commercial flight crashed in a storm trying
to land in Tachilek. The Burmese Army Commander requested
Maj. Gen. Thin Sin in Keng Tung to please send a helicopter to assist with
the search. He would not.
The plane was not found for five days. It was a few thousand meter only from
the control tower, visible on a clear day.
When Maj. Gen. Thin Sin did come to Tachilek, he went and played golf and
would not visit the wreck site.

Maj. Gen. Thin Sin Battles the Shan Army for the Lahu Pill Runners

In his battle against the Shans, Maj.Gen Thin Sin began building up a secret
Lahu Home Guard who he started training as commandos to conduct raids and run
speed pills.
The Lahu Home Guard was first run by the Lahu Yi Sae.
In 1999 Yi Sae's number two man, who had a house in Ban Tom And Haen Taek of
Thailand, was caught by Thai police running speed pills.
Captain under Khun Sa, Yi Sae had been in the the Yi Pu San Home Guard
since that time.
In 1999 Yi Sae sent 3 home guard men to carry speed pills to the Thai side.
Shan army troops intercepted and killed them.
Capt. Yi Sae calls Keng Tung and tells Maj. Gen Thin Sin what happened and
asks for his help.
Maj. Gen Thin Sin is connected with the mafia in this regard and controls all
pill running in his region.
Maj.Gen Thin Sin sends Col. Koko to go and help fight the Shan with the
battalion 359 troops from Tachilek.
But the Burmese are defeated, loosing 27 men.
Lahu Home Guard Lahu Ja Chi Bu from Mong Pya - Mai Yun Home Guard sends
speed pills to Thai side Jan 2001.
Shan army once again intercept his men and kill them, cut off the head of one
soldier and send it to Ja Chi Bu in Mong Pya.
Ja Chi Bu calls Maj.Gen Thin Sin to help him fight the Shans and this starts
the border war with Thailand between Feb 11 and 16.
The bridge is closed.
During the ensuing battles the Burmese army looses one hill to the Thais.
Shan army are located at that position.
Maj.Gen Thin Sin orders the army to make a "fixed bayonet only" charge.
"No shooting, make these Shans fearful and show how tough we are." The Shan
open fire, killing 46 Burmese Soldiers.
But Captain Win Aung of the Tachilek command objected to this event and let
it be known in Tachilek what had occured and why.
Maj.Gen Thin Sin becomes ashamed of this story being known.
He begins to pressure Capt. Win Aung to retire.
After bridge closure Maj.Gen Thin Sin orders all gambling and prostitution to
be allowed.
He gives the order to Tachilek Dist. Police Officer Lt. Col. Oon Myint.
Capt. Win Aung opposes this. He continues to seize gambling gear which is
now being set up in many places.
Lt. Col. Oon Myint informs Maj.Gen Thin Sin of these events.
On June 21 Capt. Win Aung, Tachilek Commander, is arrested on "trumped up"
charges that he has been supplying intelligence information to the Shan army.
He had been the Township Chairman for five years, previously a school teacher.

On June 23 Capt. Win Aung is transported to the prison in Keng Tung, Eastern
Shan State.
Lt. Col. Oon Myint is promoted and sent to the Karen State Capital.
