The symbiotic relationship between CIA covert operations and missionary work is extremely well documented in the fabulous and impossible to find book "The Will Be Done, The Conquest of the Amazon" by Gerard Colby et al. Including detailed sections on Southeast Asia it describes in detail how Christian zealots, with bibles and CIA funded airplanes opened up the jungles for Christ, translated the indigenous languages, made dictionaries and then opened the way for industrialization, genocide, covert operations and drug smuggling in the name of God. It happened all throughout Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. Wherever the missionaries went the CIA was right behind. Praise God! The tradition lingers.
