In the first hour, Congressman Dave Weldon said the situation at the Los Alamos Nuclear lab requires immediate removal of not only the Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson, but President Clinton as well. “I think Secretary Richardson should resign. What we have here is one of the greatest lapses of national security interests in the history of our country.” Weldon who participated in House Hearings this week on the issue, was startled at the lack of security at Los Alamos. “Security was virtually zero. There were around eighty people who had access to this vault, no security cameras, no guards over the vault, no logbook to sign in or sign out...They are essentially clueless as to who it might have been who took this information. In my opinion, the president himself should resign based on what has happened.
