Moscow recently requested information from the Pentagon on possible transfers of biomaterials, military diplomatic sources disclosed. Media reports indicate that between 1985 to 1988, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at Atlanta, Georgia, and a biological culture samples storage site at Monassas, Virginia, transferred samples of various biomaterials to Iraq, possibly enabling the country to develop bioweapons.
