My point was not to suggest that we indulge in violent
protest or shoot or blow up anyone who seriously annoys
us.

The point was.
Protest works where "Please sir we don't like this law"
fails.  It dosen't have to be violent or even illegal
just massively inconvenient to those in power and with
as high a media proflie as possible. It also helps
if it proves expensive to lower tiers of government as
they then start rattling the treasury's door for more
funds.
I wouldn't think you'd be to upset by that Iggy. Remember
the miners strike and think of all that overtime.

The trick is to keep it on their desk with increasing
numbers of people and organisations asking them what
they are going to do about it.

As stated the example of the IRA was an extreme example
to make a point and if you misread it to assume that I
was suggesting something similar then I'm
going to start getting annoyed.
