I personally find the [t gem] easiest to use for non-programmers. It uses the REST API instead of the Twitter Search API, so can get up to [3200] tweets.

But given volumes, that might not help you.

Okay this is super late, but you may want to check out the tweepy module in
Python. You will have to write a script to get the tweets. Here's an
