machine). Then I try to execute the program on the evm:

I tried the one from CodeSourcery - kernel too old.
I tried the one from yagarto - all compiled programs stop with a
segmentation fault.

I build a new kernel. Therefore I downloaded the git-kernel, compiled
uImage and copied $KERNEL_SOURCE/arch/arm/boot/zImage to /uImage_2.6.24
Then I compiled the moduels and installed the modules.

Then I copied the kernelsources to a user-directory. I applied
no patches, nothing.
