I have successfully booted into PXE syslinux boot: prompt typed in vmlinuz inird=initrd.gz and pressed <enter>. The system has hanged with NumLock unlit and caps and scroll lock flashing. if I am pointing to another root image: vmlinuz initrd=miniroot.gz (from Knoppix terminalserver) then system starts up and if I pointing to same initrd another kernel vmlinuz-2.4.22-xfs then I got similar error (numlock unlit, caps and scrolllock lit) You can see the screenshots here: http://www.penza-gsm.ru/snake/debian/native-capsNscroll-flashing.jpg http://www.penza-gsm.ru/snake/debian/knoppix-capsNscroll-steady.jpg -- Respectfully Alexey Nezhdanov --------------------------------------- Received: (at 263750-done) by bugs.debian.org; 16 Aug 2004 09:43:03 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Aug 16 02:43:03 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from mailrelay.eurospot.com (relay.swisscom-eurospot.com) [62.39.81.196] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1Bwe19-0006MC-00; Mon, 16 Aug 2004 02:43:03 -0700 Received: from dragon.kitenet.net (unknown [82.109.138.58]) by relay.swisscom-eurospot.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7533A286FF2 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Mon, 16 Aug 2004 11:43:02 +0200 (CEST) Received: by dragon.kitenet.net (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 4D1436F1F2; Mon, 16 Aug 2004 10:43:47 +0100 (BST) Date: Mon, 16 Aug 2004 10:43:46 +0100 From: Joey Hess <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: closing this report Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="YZ5djTAD1cGYuMQK" Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.6+20040803i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: --YZ5djTAD1cGYuMQK Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable This looks like it's probably because the kernel is not loading the full ramdisk. You forgot to pass ramdisk_size=3D10000 or the like. Note that as of rc1 of the installer, there is a pxeboot tarball that you can untar and that provides a preconfigured and working netbot without needing to worry about this. --=20 see shy jo --YZ5djTAD1cGYuMQK Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFBIIHSd8HHehbQuO8RAuQbAJ9UxZyIKSuZqaU40V1B7W9sqI2B/gCg2YDr GXGHjljjuYo1KO+QB8w1f1M= =jAxT -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --YZ5djTAD1cGYuMQK-- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
