Hi,
I've been fighting with this bug recently, and I've found that
two measures should be taken:
1) I found that some structures in the main config file (namely,
Directory) were being interpreted as virtualhosts. A link done in the way
that other people recommended solved it.
I've noticed that, while gconfd-2 is running, thunderbird isn't launched
correctly (the proccess is created but I can see no window). In this
situation i can't launch firefox either.
If I kill all gconfd-2 proccess I can get firefox and thunderbird
running simultaneously.
