I can reproduce this error with the daily image from Monday, April 13.
I used the amd64 images netinstall per usb-stick method on a Lenovo
x61s and the configuration of the network failed both with DHCP aswell

/boot/grub/menu.lst is a weird file - the configuration is done in
the comments (or with dpkg-reconfigure); and the entire file (with
any passwords removed) would be automatically added by reportbug
for bugs reported against Grub.

I just wanted to note that it doesn't only happen with aptitude but with
