Ok, I investigated the issue deeper. Although the proposed patch fixes
the FTBFS problem, the resulting code is buggy.
I strongly advise the Ubuntu maintainers to mark their current
octave-video package (version 2.0.2-1ubuntu1) as unsuitable for release,
since it does not work as expected.
