I have installed fglrx-driver 1:11-9 (I had to downgrade xserver-xorg to version 10). The overall rendering is much improved. Icons are there. Yet there is still a lot of flickering during window resizing, for example. In my opinion the bug should still be open. Best regards, Carlo.
