there was recently an update to.. among other things,
xserver-xorg-video-core i believe. in any case, i just did "apt-get update;
apt-get upgrade; apt-get dist-upgrade;" , noticed there was xorg-related
updates, tested again, and xserver-xorg-video-dummy works again now it
seems :)
seems it's fixed in the daily installer builds, and thus it should be safe
to assume the fix will be part of the next installer (alpha 8?). grab daily
build copy here https://d-i.debian.org/daily-images/amd64/daily/ , it works
for me.
