mouth is supposed to work without adding i915 to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules or not. If adding the module there is a requirement, then arguably this bug is actually PEBKAC. But if users (at least in Debian) started to rely on that behavior, than a work-around might be needed. Not sure if it should be upstream

derer No idea why old kernel versions weren't calling plymouth to ask for the luks password. Just in case: is "dpkg --purge plymouth" supposed to be a safe way out of this bug these days? Or do we now require plymouth in order to be able to ask for luks password during boot? Cheers
