I may have found a way to reproduce the problem.
It seems that, after starting kontact successfully, then go to calendar,
choose (using a non-empty calendar) month view, then quit kontact and try to
start it again, it will crash.

Deleting the attached files from $HOME/.kde/share/config made kontact able to
start.

This is the configuration: root on a raid 1 on top of an lvm consisting of two
PVs (two 1TB Western digital hdds). This is what I'm experiencing: While
mounted, the system suddenly will become unresponsive / freeze for a period of
