I am a fan of linuxcnc. Linuxcnc holds a script to switch to realtime,
if you want to control a cnc device.
This script does not have a LSB compliant header. (linuxcnc is little
bit outdated :-( )

To make the mouse/keyb work you can simply switch them off at the
keyboard switch.
Switch on after a few seconds is like an newly plugged in device, then
mouse/keyborad are working.
