Hi,

I suggest to remove echoping from the archive i.e. unstable:

It FTBFS with GCC 10—see https://bugs.debian.org/957161 from April
2020, i.e. more than 1.5 years ago. And yes, it FTBFS already with GCC
10 and that bug report is not part of the more recent rounds of GCC 11
FTBFS bug reports.

That bug report also got a patch proposed about a 3/4 year ago and
shows no maintainer reaction at all, neither before nor after the
posting that patch. (X-Debbugs-Cc'ing Logan, the patch proposer as
well in case he has some interest in this package.)

Because a BinNMU has failed due to this issue, the current binary
package is now uninstallable in Unstable after the libidn11 to
libidn12 transition — as Piuparts also reports.

Additionally the linked upstream homepage
(https://github.com/bortzmeyer/echoping/) is not the current one
anymore and points to https://framagit.org/bortzmeyer/echoping.

On both sites you can read the following statement:

> echoping was a small program to test (approximatively) performances
> of a remote host by sending it requests such as HTTP requests.
>
> echoping is no longer maintained.

So it's probably not worth keeping it up under e.g. the QA team's
umbrella or with an NMU even though a patch is available for nearly a
year. (Or in other words: The sole proper way to continue having this
package in Debian is to defacto taking over upstream maintenance as
well.)

And last but not least its maintainer generally looks quite MIA
(X-Debbugs-Cc'ing the MIA team for that) with a lot of NMUs and most
other packages being or going to be removed from testing or not having
seen an upload since before oldstable, i.e. for about three years:
https://qa.debian.org/developer.php?email=midget%40debian.org (Last
upload of echoping was in 2017 btw.)
