After posting the bug the upstream author contacted me and we were in talk about the init script. We came to conclusion, that the script might produce a possible data loss (e.g. SMS sent or received while stopping the daemon *could* be lost!)! Therefore i upgraded the severity of this package and fixed it for the next upload.
