Package: pulseaudio-module-hal
Version: 0.9.5-6
Severity: normal

Just installing pulseaudio and pulseaudio-module-hal on a system where hal was
not previously installed makes it unrunnable. Here's what syslog says:

Feb 19 14:26:23 hell pulseaudio[15585]: module-hal-detect.c: Couldn't connect
to hald: (null): (null)
Feb 19 14:26:23 hell pulseaudio[15585]: module.c: Failed to load module
"module-hal-detect" (argument: ""): initialization failed.
Feb 19 14:26:23 hell pulseaudio[15585]: main.c: Module load failed.
Feb 19 14:26:23 hell pulseaudio[15585]: main.c: failed to initialize daemon.
Feb 19 14:26:23 hell pulseaudio[15584]: main.c: daemon startup failed.

Installing hal fixed the problem.
