Package: linux-patch-bootsplash Version: 2.6.18-1 Severity: minor
The subject pretty much says it all. But I will go into some more detail for you. With the patch applied and running with debian default theme, when the screen blank kicks in on a terminal with moving text (such as irc), the screen slowly starts unblanking single 1x1character spots on the screen that reveal the text behind that spot. The spot is then permenantly stuck in a non blank until the next time the screen blank comes in. The unblanking character spots do not occur outside of the boundary for the graphic however. That is, after enough time has passed to uncover the whole console, the screen is left with a black box around it where the blue debian logo would normally be (for this theme). After I press a key and cause the screen to unblank, only the surrounding border is redrawn, as well as any spots out of the "checkerboard" that were still blanked. I hope this gives you an idea.
