Package: debiandoc-sgml Version: 1.2.7 Severity: normal Hi,
the long description of the package is refering to tetex-bin and tetex-extra instead of texlive. The apropriate texlive packages are mentioned in the Recommends of the package and this should be mentioned in the Description as well. Moreover in the code of some utilities is an advise to install tetex packages: $ grep tetex /usr/bin/debiandoc2* /usr/bin/debiandoc2dvi: echo >&2 "${script}: please install the package 'tetex-bin'" /usr/bin/debiandoc2dvi: echo >&2 "${script}: please install the package 'tetex-extra'" /usr/bin/debiandoc2latexdvi: echo >&2 "${script}: please install the package 'tetex-bin'" /usr/bin/debiandoc2latexdvi: echo >&2 "${script}: please install the package 'tetex-extra'" /usr/bin/debiandoc2latexpdf: echo >&2 "${script}: please install the package 'tetex-bin'" /usr/bin/debiandoc2latexpdf: echo >&2 "${script}: please install the package 'tetex-extra'" /usr/bin/debiandoc2latexps: echo >&2 "${script}: please install the package 'tetex-bin'" /usr/bin/debiandoc2latexps: echo >&2 "${script}: please install the package 'tetex-extra'" /usr/bin/debiandoc2pdf: echo >&2 "${script}: please install the package 'tetex-bin'" /usr/bin/debiandoc2pdf: echo >&2 "${script}: please install the package 'tetex-extra'" /usr/bin/debiandoc2ps: echo >&2 "${script}: please install the package 'tetex-bin'" /usr/bin/debiandoc2ps: echo >&2 "${script}: please install the package 'tetex-extra'" This should be changed to the apropriate texlive packages. Alternatively - and this solution would be even more apreciated - the texlive packages should not be only Recomended but added to the Depends of the package. The rationale behind this is that it would be much more easy to add Build-Depends for packages that are using debiandoc. For instance this would have been prevented bug #445777 and would have saved me from expelicitely mentioning four additional Build-Depends. Moreover, in case some further texlive package would be used by debiandoc every other package that is using debiandoc would need touching to fix the build depends instead of just making debiandoc dependant from the stuf that is needed.
