Sorry for a late reply. Firstly I hadnt check this email for a long time as I was busy with my work and secondly my girl friend had borrowed my laptop for the last three months. I do not get the alloc magic is broken error any more with grub2 and lvm.mod. Grub2 never works if I have lvm.mod
