Is there a known work around for this problem?
The older v1.7 krb5 libraries are now nowhere to be found on the Debian
repositories so I can't downgrade and wait for a fix.
Of is there a place where older libkrb5-3 debian packages can be found and

A couple of points. First, 1.8 is in alpha test. Etienne's assumption
that upstream is aware of the consequences of their changes is false.
