Update-notifier doesn't update the packagelist automatically. Therefore it never notifies me about updates. I have to manually run an "apt-get update". Only after that, does update-notifier notify me about updates. I was arguing with myself, whether to make this bug important or serious, because now the package is quite useless as it simply doesn't do the job it was invented for.
