Package: revelation Version: 0.4.11-8 Severity: normal I am not a programmer, and I have no programming knowledge, but this may be helpful to someone...
The old ubuntu package has worked fine, but the newer Debian package has not, and the constant notification of an update had become a constant annoyance. Therefore, I decided to see if I could find some difference between the two packages that would cause this problem. The result came down to one file. The problem appears to be in the /usr/share/revelation/libexec/revelation-applet file as I now have the newer Debian package working as it should be. I simply copied the revelation-applet file from the ubuntu package over the one from the newer Debian package and all is working fine. Hope someone finds this useful...
