Thanks for making me aware of this bug. I have contacted upstream and
we should be good to remove php5-auth-pam.
I have created an updated package removing php5-auth-pam from
Ampache's dependencies. When testing is complete I will upload to
m.d.n and ping you for review and upload :)

Hi,
I am requesting the removal of this package as the maintainer of php5,
which is a reverse dependency of php-auth-pam. php-auth-php doesn't
build from source with PHP 5.4 (#656485).
php-auth-pam was abandoned by upstream (the upstream pages even
tags 663694 + moreinfo
