parted says: /dev/sda contains GPT signatures, indicating that it has a GPT table. However, it does not have a valid fake msdos partition table, as it should. Perhaps it was corrupted. I am going to follow this to fix my GPT table:

Package: partman Severity: important Tags: d-i partman doesn't show up the GPT partitions installed Windows 8.1 and thus I cannot install Debian amend the Windows partition. Although /dev/sda lists /dev/sda{1,2}, partman in d-i doesn't list the partitions and free space, only the drive itself.
