Package: ftp.debian.org Severity: wishlist Dear maintainer
Currently there are at least several areas where (localized) section descriptions are duplicated [1,2,3]. There are problems with this: - packages.d.o misses metadata, and aptitude did also until recently; - wrong or misleading description of sections [4]. Suggest to have new control files either on the main archive or metadata.f-m.d.o, with contents like: Section: admin Description-en: Administration Utilities Utilities to administer system resources, manage user accounts, etc. and taking the initial descriptions perhaps from packages.d.o, which are short and informative.
