Hi, John Johansen's replies in the relevant thread [1] on the upstream mailing list helps building confidence in shipping the 2.8.95 userspace, combined with a kernel that has no out-of-tree AppArmor patches. When discussing this on IRC a few days ago, Kees seemed to lean toward this too. [1]

There's definitely stuff in 2.8.95 that I want---what most comes to mind is the newer Python implementations of the various AppArmor utilities, which don't have the problems of the deprecated Perl ones: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/950921 (see comment #3) Still, Ubuntu plays things
