Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
I run userpasswd (eg with window manager xfce4 on Debian Wheezy) through
Settings -> Password menu from the desktop) and enter my old password.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
I enter mismatched new passwords, or a new password that is too short.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
There are two overlapping dialog boxes displayed. The top one looks like:
      Error
     Authenticating as "user"
Sorry the passwords do not match.
                                Cancel
Clicking that Cancel button has no effect.

The bottom dialog looks like:
The password you typed is invalid.
      Please try again.
                            Close
Clicking that Close button dismisses both dialog boxes.

However, that Close button is hidden under the top dialog box.

Depending on the error message, the entire bottom dialog box could be hidden,
which makes it hard for users to work out how to close the (top) dialog box
they can see when its Cancel button has no effect.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

It would be much nicer if there was a single dialog box including an error
message like "Sorry the passwords do not match." Or at least have non-
overlapping dialog boxes so both are visible.

I have reproduced this problem on Debian 7 wheezy with XFCE4 (my main concern)
and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with Unity.
