Package: elogind
Version: 239.3-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?

running

service elogind restart

from within a desktop session, elogind restarted alright, but with the
next audio track that I attempted to play I received the error:

Failed to create secure directory (/run/user/1000/pulse):
No such file or directory

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

logging out of the user session and logging in again resulted in audio
playback working again.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
   * What outcome did you expect instead?

If restarting elogin impacts user sessions like this, a reinstall or
upgrade via aptitude should warn of the possible impacts and not restart
the servic unless the user accepts this.
