with glusterfs 5.3-1 in unstable the libraries have been split out of the glusterfs-common package, there is also now a libglusterfs-dev package. Please build depend on libglusterfs-dev instead of glusterfs-common. Until all packages have been migrated, glusterfs-common will depend on libglusterfs-dev, but I try to remove this for the buster release.
