avr packages in debian have for the last couple of years been based on a
distribution from atmel:
http://distribute.atmel.no/tools/opensource/Atmel-AVR-GNU-%20Toolchain/3.4.4/
However it's recently gone away too...
There have been a sugestion to use Microchip Packs Repository:
