I'm having the same problem:
bash: /usr/share/openfoam/bin/foamEtcFile: No such file or directory
bash: /usr/share/openfoam/bin/foamCleanPath: No such file or directory

I'm able to run most of the OpenFOAM binaries by exporting
WM_PROJECT_DIR=/usr/share/openfoam
This does not work for the dynamically compiled code though.

As far as I know, in order to use openfoam, it is necessary to source
/usr/share/openfoam/etc/bashrc beforehand. However, sourcing this file
fails with the message:
/usr/share/openfoam/etc/config.sh/setup:30: no such file or directory:
