Package: r8168-dkms Version: 8.048.03-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I've recently gotten an Asus PN51 computer with what I believe to be a RTL8111 NIC. With the r8169 driver, I can't connect to my network at all (link detected, no DHCP) and with the r8168 driver the download performance is abysmal (~50k/s downloading from another computer on the same network) After downloading 8.049.02-0 from upstream and building (used apt-get source, updated contents from upstream, made a package using debuild -uc -us) the card works as expected, and I get download approaching gigabit speeds on LAN. -- System Information: Debian Release: 11.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable'), (700, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-8-amd64 (SMP w/16 CPU threads) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_DK.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_DK.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages r8168-dkms depends on: ii dkms 2.8.4-3 r8168-dkms recommends no packages. r8168-dkms suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
