After severals tests and hacks, this bug don't come from mc.
set your system date to february, march or september and try:
$ LANG=hu_HU.UTF-8 date +%b
this return 4 letters, and
severity 504524 important

Martin, I mentioned this issue in README.Debian in the recent upload, afaiu this
problem can be avoided with other window manager, plus it doesn't affect any
non-GUI java program.
