After I installed
debian-live-6.0.4-i386-rescue.iso on a notebook,

this is due to multiarch'ed chasen (since 2.4.5-1) and thus makemat
being in /usr/lib/triplet/chasen/ and not /usr/lib/chasen where the
script expects it to be.
